Denver Broncos safety Ryan Murphy was questioned in a prostitution sting by the Santa Clara county sheriff’s office, but not arrested. His brother was charged with solicitation.
The encounter occurred in San Jose, but involved the Santa Clara County Sheriff’s Office, not San Jose police, as had been initially reported by local media.
Murphy’s brother was cited for solicitation, and Murphy himself was detained but not arrested, sources said.
Murphy was a 7th round pick out of Oregon State by the Seahawks in 2015. He joined the Broncos practice squad in November after being released.
UPDATE: Murphy has been sent home.
